The short answer

monday.com can’t natively show the same item on more than one board, because every item belongs to exactly one board. To show it elsewhere without duplicating it, use Connect Boards + Mirror columns to display a few of its fields on another board, or install Same Item on Multiple Boards (SIMB) by Pioneera to put one synced, editable item on every board you choose.
  • Just need to see a status or date from another board? Use native mirror columns. They are built in.
  • Need the item itself on both boards, editable, with one update thread and its subitems? Use SIMB.
  • Avoid copies. A copied item is a second item. It drifts out of sync the moment someone edits one of them.
monday.com confirms there is no native option: on the feature request “Item lives on multiple boards”, monday’s team says it is “not currently on our roadmap” and lists Same Item Multiple Boards first among the workarounds (source).

Your options at a glance

Option 1: Connect Boards + Mirror columns (native)

This is the right tool when you only need to display a few fields from another board.
  1. On the board that needs the data, add a Connect Boards column and pick the other board.
  2. In each item, choose which item on the other board it links to.
  3. Add a Mirror column, pick the Connect Boards column, then pick the field to show (for example Status or Date). Add one mirror column per field.
What monday.com’s own docs say about mirror columns (source):
  • Changes you make in a mirrored cell are reflected on the connected board, and the other way round.
  • The Updates section can’t be mirrored.
  • Item names can’t be mirrored (the Connect Boards column shows the linked name instead).
  • You can mirror a mirror column only up to two times.
  • On private or shareable boards, or with column permissions, only people with access to the original data can see the mirrored value.
  • How many boards you can connect to one board depends on your plan: 1 on Basic, 5 on Standard, 20 on Pro, 200 on Enterprise (source).
Where it falls short: the item is still on one board only. A mirrored status is not a real status column on the second board, so views, Kanban lanes, many automations and forms don’t treat it like one. More detail in mirror column limitations and why automations don’t trigger on mirror columns. monday.com automations such as “when an item is created, create an item in another board” make a new, separate item. That is fine for a one-time snapshot or archive. For live work it creates two items that drift: statuses, dates and updates change on one and not the other. See why duplicated items drift.

Option 3: Same Item on Multiple Boards (SIMB) by Pioneera

Use SIMB when the item itself needs to be on several boards and stay the same everywhere:
  • Change a status, date, owner or any matching column on one board and it changes on every board.
  • Updates and replies are one thread, whichever board you read them from (updates sync).
  • Subitems follow the item to every board automatically (subitems).
  • Columns on every board are normal monday.com columns, so you can build views, filters and automations on them.
  • Works across workspaces in the same account, and across Work Management, CRM and Campaigns boards (supported columns).
SIMB is the “Best seller” in this category on the monday.com marketplace, with 9,588 installs since December 2023 (marketplace data, checked October 14, 2026).

How to set it up (about 3 minutes)

1

Install SIMB

Open the monday.com Marketplace, search for Same Item Multiple Boards and click Install. Choose to install it across all workspaces so you can share between workspaces. (install guide)
2

Open the item and the SIMB tab

Click the item you want to show on another board, then open the Same Item Multiple Boards tab in the item view.
3

Click Share to another board

Pick the workspace, the destination board and the group.
4

Check column names and types

Columns sync automatically when the name and type match on both boards (names are case-sensitive). Add missing columns directly on the destination board. There is no manual mapping step. (automatic column matching)
5

Done

The item now lives on both boards. A small icon next to its name marks it as shared, and the optional Item Locations column lists every board it is on.
Want this to happen by itself? Use an automation recipe such as “When Status changes to In Progress, add item to Sprint Board”. For many existing items, use batch actions.
Each person who posts updates needs to authorize SIMB once, so their comments sync to the other boards. See how to authorize.

What SIMB can’t do

Being honest about limits saves you time:
  • Formula, Mirror and Connect Boards columns are not synced. You can still show a formula result with a mirror column (workaround).
  • A regular board and a multi-level board can’t be connected to each other yet.
  • Each plan has an item limit and a board limit. The free plan covers 10 items on 3 boards (pricing).

Which option should you pick?

FAQ

Not natively. Every monday.com item belongs to one board, and the feature request is marked not on the roadmap. You can show its fields elsewhere with mirror columns, or put the item on several boards with a marketplace app like SIMB.
Install Same Item on Multiple Boards (SIMB), open the item, click the SIMB tab and choose Share to another board. The item stays linked on both boards, so there is no second copy to keep in sync by hand.
monday.com says changes made in a mirrored cell are reflected on the connected board. But a mirrored value is not a real column on your board, so many views and automations won’t treat it like one.
Not with mirror columns: monday.com says the Updates section can’t be mirrored. With SIMB, updates and replies sync to every board the item lives on.
Mirror columns can’t carry subitems. With SIMB, subitems follow the parent item to every board automatically. See sync subitems across boards.
Native mirror columns are included in monday.com. SIMB has a free plan for 10 items on 3 boards, so you can test it on real boards before you pay.
