Fastest way: Share Column to Another Board
Use this when the column already exists on one board and you want it on another connected board, including its values.1
Open the board that already has the column
Go to the monday.com board where the column already exists and is filled in.
2
Open the column menu
Hover the column header, then click the three dots (
...).3
Open Column Extensions
In the menu, choose Column extensions.
4
Choose Share Column to Another Board
Select Share Column to Another Board (Same Item Multiple Boards). Follow the prompts to pick the destination board. SIMB adds the column on that board and brings over the values for shared items.

The menu label is Share Column to Another Board. It lives under Column extensions on the column header menu.
Other options
Create a matching column, then hard sync
- On the target board, create a new column.
- Use the exact same name as on the source board (spelling, capitals, and spaces).
- Choose the exact same column type (Status with Status, Text with Text, Date with Date, and so on).
- Open the Same Item Multiple Boards board view.
- Filter to Discrepancies.
- Expand items and click Sync Latest where values still differ.
Rename so names match, then hard sync
If both boards already have the field but under different titles (for exampleStatus vs Request status):
- Rename one side so both titles match exactly.
- Confirm the column type also matches.
- Use the Discrepancy Report and Sync Latest to align existing values.
Item by item (slowest)
Open a shared item, use the Same Item Multiple Boards item view / Column Mapping flow, and sync from there. Useful for a one-off check. Prefer Column Extensions or Discrepancies for board-wide catch-up. See also: Column Mapping.Important notes
- Automations will not create the new column on the destination board.
- Column names must match exactly for live sync, including capitalization and spacing.
- Column type must match. A Status column will not sync with a Text column even if the names are identical.
- Formula, Mirror, and Connected Boards columns are not supported for normal SIMB column sync.
- Column Mapping’s one-click Create column appears when you manually share a single item. It does not run for automations.
